Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania. She is an actress from Germany and Romania. Her best-known films include Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra was the only daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At the age of 16she already been offered a variety of television roles which included the leading role in Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Her critically acclaimed role in the television film Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including the role of the secretary of Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially profitable Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex and The Reader are also Oscar-nominated movies featuring this actress. Alexandra is well-known for her involvement in many notable projects, both in the United States and internationally. These include British biographical film Control as well as The Dust of Time as well as French historical miniseries Napoleon.
